They are available in 3mm to 300mm thickness and in 300mm to 18000mm length. En 10225 S355G2+N Steel Plates are put through tests such as flux cored arc welding (FCAW) and submerged arc welding (SAW). this helps in understanding the cold cracking sensitivity and hardenability.
As per the European specification for weldable structure EN 10225 Grade S355G2+N Offshore Platform Steel Plate used in these offshore structures should not be more than 150mm in thickness. This standard also defines sections up to 63mm thickness with an exception of those BS en10225 S355g2+N that are in a rolled condition which is permitted up to a thickness of 25mm only. The allowed thickness of seamless hollow section is up to 40mm and that of high-frequency electric resistance weld S355g2+N Mild Steel Plate up to 20mm.
S355G2+N Offshore Structural Steel Plates are designed to be used in the offshore sector. However not in steel supplied for fabricating subsea pipeline, process equipment, and risers. In the case of a hollow section formed by the S355g2+N Structural Steel Plate with seam fusion-welded this standard covers only the requirements of the material and is primarily applicable in the north sea sector. S355G2+N Offshore Platform Steel Plates are primarily used to construct various offshore platforms that are used to drill oil from the sea bed.
